Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Reelcart ("we", "our", "us") is a Shopify application developed by ANF Studio that lets merchants add shoppable videos, reels and stories to their Shopify store. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how it is stored and deleted. By installing or using Reelcart, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Access

  • Store Information: your shop domain and, with your permission, products and orders. Order data is used only to attribute which video drove a sale — we do not access or store customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
  • Videos & Galleries: the videos you upload or import, their thumbnails, titles, tagged products and display settings.
  • Instagram (only if you connect it): when you connect your Instagram Business or Creator account, we access your profile (username) and your own media (reels/videos) via the instagram_business_basic permission, so you can import your reels. We do not post, send messages, read comments, or access anyone else's content.
  • Anonymous Analytics: aggregate, non-identifying storefront events (video views, clicks, add-to-carts) and a randomly generated session id. This contains no personal information.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Render shoppable videos, reels and stories on your storefront
  • Let you upload or import videos (including your own Instagram reels) and manage galleries
  • Show you performance analytics for your videos and galleries
  • Operate billing through Shopify

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

4. Instagram / Meta Data

Reelcart uses the Instagram API with Instagram Login. Connecting your account is optional and controlled entirely by you. We only access the media of the Instagram account you explicitly connect, and only to import it into your own store at your request, in compliance with the Meta Platform Terms and Instagram's policies. You can disconnect at any time from within the app.

5. Data Storage

  • MongoDB Atlas: app data (galleries, video records, settings, aggregate analytics) and your Shopify session.
  • Shopify Files & Cloudflare R2: the video files you upload or import.
  • Access tokens (Shopify and, if connected, Instagram) are stored securely and used only to provide the app's features.

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their own use. Data is only processed by the infrastructure providers required to run the service:

  • Shopify: authentication, store data access, video hosting, and billing
  • Meta / Instagram: only for the account you choose to connect
  • Cloudflare R2: video file storage
  • MongoDB Atlas: app database hosting

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Disconnect Instagram: use the "Disconnect" button in the app to remove your Instagram token at any time.
  • Uninstall: when you uninstall Reelcart, we stop accessing your store and delete your data in line with Shopify's mandatory data-erasure webhooks, typically within 48 hours of the shop-redact request.
  • Meta data deletion: removing Reelcart from your Instagram account triggers our deauthorize and data-deletion endpoints, which erase the stored Instagram token and related data.
  • On request: email us and we will delete your data.

8. GDPR Compliance

We comply with GDPR and Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

  • Customer Data Request: Reelcart stores no customer-identifiable data, so there is nothing to return.
  • Customer Data Erasure: Reelcart stores no customer-identifiable data, so there is nothing to delete.
  • Shop Data Erasure: we delete all shop data upon app uninstallation.

9. Security

  • All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Shopify OAuth 2.0 for authentication and HMAC-verified webhooks
  • MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest
  • All secrets and API keys stored as environment variables

10. Your Content

You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload or import. Reelcart only accesses the media of the Instagram account you explicitly connect, and only to import it into your own store at your request.
